Obituary of Zachary Yeggy
Zachary “Zac” Alan Yeggy, 26, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, in Chariton. Visitation for Zac will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Riverside. Funeral Mass will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday September 2, 2017, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Riverside. Rev. David Brownfield will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Following the committal service at the cemetery, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the St. Mary’s Parish Center. Zac Alan Yeggy was born on June 28, 1991 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Dennis M. and Kelly A. Yeggy. He graduated from Southeast Warren High School in Liberty Center, IA in 2009, where he was a member of the football team and always guaranteed to make you laugh. Zac went on to attend college at the University of Iowa where he was able to cheer on his Hawkeyes and earned a Bachelor’s degree in 2013.
Zac had a heart of gold and was always willing to help anyone in need. He had a love for the Hawkeyes and made sure everyone knew it. Zac never missed an opportunity to get outdoors to go fishing or mushroom hunting. Zac had a love for all animals and enjoyed helping out on the family farm. He loved spending time with his family and was a very proud uncle. Zac will be greatly missed by the many people who love him.
Zac is survived by his parents; Dennis and Kelly Yeggy of Chariton; brothers Ryan (Kayli) Yeggy of Milo, IA, and Bret Yeggy of Bettendorf, IA; Nana, Barb Powers of Dubuque, IA; grandparents, Merritt and Evelyn Yeggy of Riverside, IA; nephews, Kash and Klayton Yeggy; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Zac was preceded in death by his Papa Tom Powers.
