Obituary of John Elshoff
John E. Elshoff, 58, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at his home. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 4:00 -7:00 P.M. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. A private family service will take place with interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery with military rites by the combined units of the V.F.W. Post 1565 and the American Legion Post #27. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established so that the family may place a memorial bench in one of the local parks. John E. Elshoff was born on August 1, 1958 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the son of Bob and Helen (Christie) Elshoff. John had proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1976-1979. On June 25, 1982, He was united in marriage to Michelle Little in Muscatine. John had worked at Monsanto for many years; where he served on the emergency team and as an EMTB. John enjoyed fishing, doing carpentry, woodworking and was a private pilot. One of his favorite things to do was spend time with his children and grandchildren..
John will be deeply missed by his wife, Michelle of Muscatine; daughters, Jennifer (Kevin) Lind of Apple Valley, Minnesota and Amanda Elshoff of Muscatine; grandchildren, Dylan Wilkinson, Jonathan Bjerken, Brooklyn Bjerken and Eva Lind; brothers, Jim (Gale) Evans of Springfield, Missouri and Billy (Marci) Edwards of Muscatine; and sisters, Carol Griffin of Muscatine and Shirley (Tom) Willis of Palestine, Texas.
John was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Bill Edwards and two brothers, Jack and Jerry Evans.
