Jerald “Rich” Rupe, Jr., 53, of Iowa City passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018, at his home in Iowa City. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Columbus Junction American Legion. Jerald Richard Rupe, Jr., was born on August 11, 1964, in Davenport, Iowa the son of Jerald Richard Rupe, Sr. and Joyce LaVaughn (Foor) Rupe. Rich was a 1982 graduate of Columbus Community School and attended Iowa State University. Rich owned and operated Century Plumbing in Iowa City. He enjoyed playing cards, golfing and computer programming.
Rich will be missed by his mother, Joyce Payne of Columbus City; siblings, Evonne Avesing and friend Tommy of Moreno Valley, California, Randy Rupe of Columbus City, Michael (Star) Rupe of Waverly, Jason (Kristen) Payne of Columbus Junction and Joshua (Vanessa) Payne of Muscatine and half-sister, Janice (Carl) Rife of Letts.
Rich was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, father, half-brother, Steve Rupe and step-brother, Eric Payne.
