Rose Mary Holden, 92, of Columbus Junction, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017, at Colonial Manor with family by her side. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at The Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial will be in the Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Colonial Manor in Columbus Junction in memory of Rose Mary. Rose Mary Wilson was born on November 7, 1924, in Buckville, Arkansas, the daughter of James M. and Mary M. (Howell) Wilson. Rose Mary was united in marriage to Elbert W. Evans in 1945 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Following Elbert’s passing, Rose Mary was united in marriage to Harold H. Holden on July 15, 1982, in Norman, Oklahoma. She was a staff manager for Southwest Bell Telephone for 32 years. She enjoyed traveling, cooking and her cat, but most of all she dearly loved to spend time with her family.
Rose Mary will be missed by her children, James D. “Jim” (Betsy) Evans of Columbus Junction, Suzzanne E. (Charles) Brown of Joelton, Tennessee, Melinda F. (Robert) Brondell of McDonough Georgia and Kenny (Joan) Evans of Hot Springs, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Kyle, Kirk, Jimmy, Mindy and Deanna and twelve great grandchildren.
Rose Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, one son Donald W. Evans, one brother, Jeff Wilson and one sister, Faye Peden.
